Using My GET Units
What my units are worth
- 2009-2010 academic year: 1 GET unit is worth $76.00 (payout value).
Begin using my units to pay for college
- Log in to your account. If you've forgotten your Login ID and PIN, just call us.
- Select "Use Your GET Units."
- Tell us where your student is going to college by completing an Intent to Enroll (by July 1).
- Choose your payment option by completing a Direct Payment or Reimbursement Request (After August 1).
Select nearly any college nationwide
- Use your GET units at nearly any college, university or vocational school in the country and selected colleges around the world. A college is eligible if it participates in federal financial aid programs.
- View a list of eligible colleges or verify a federal school code through the U.S. Department of Education's Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Web site.
Choose how to use my units
- Pay tuition, room and board, books and other qualified expenses.
- Use up to 125 eligible units per academic year and any unused units from previous years of eligibility.
Receive favorable financial aid treatment
- A GET account is considered an asset of the account owner, generally the parent, in determining financial aid eligibility.
- Learn more about reporting my GET account on my FAFSA.
