The payout value for the 2014-2015 academic year remains $117.82 per GET unit. The payout value remains the same because tuition and state-mandated fees at Washington's highest priced public university (UW Tacoma) did not increase.

For the 2014-2015 academic year:

 

If you have eligible units for the 2014-2015 academic year, you can now request distributions. You can easily view your eligible units balance and request distributions online by logging in to your GET account. Once logged in, you can click “Using Units," and you will be guided through a process that tells us the following:

  • Where the student is going to college

  • Where to send the money (payments can be sent to the school or the account owner) Please allow two weeks for payment processing

Reminders for using units:

  • Pay tuition, room and board, books and other qualified expenses.

  • Students are eligible to use up to 125 units per year plus any rollover units from the year prior.

  • If you are getting reimbursed for the previous academic year you must fill out a paper form.

  • Whenever you withdraw funds, GET will send you a 1099-Q form the following January. Click here for Frequently Asked Questions about the 1099-Q form.

  • GET units may not be used to repay existing loans.

FAFSA information:

  • A GET account is considered an asset of the account owner, generally the parent, in determining financial aid eligibility.

Enrollment will reopen on November 1, 2014. Children from birth to 12 months of age may be enrolled year-round.
